Donald W. Wieben, age 88, of Faribault, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Dr. Armand J. Boehme, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Donald William Wieben, the son of William and Helen (Borchardt) Wieben, was born on December 30, 1924 in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1946, and then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Donald married Betty Martin on October 9, 1948 at the Congregational Church of Faribault. He worked at the Treasure Cheese Cave in Faribault for 43 years, retiring when he was 65. Donald was very handy around the house and could fix most anything. He devoted much of his time to handy work. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Wieben of Faribault; son, Michael Wieben of Faribault; two grandchildren, Michael Wieben Jr. and Jennifer Wieben; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Guillen; brother, Harold Wieben; and two sisters, Lorraine Stanley and Dorothy Wieben.
