DONALD ROLLAND PEACH, age 85 of Waterville died on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Mayo Clinic-Methodist Campus in Rochester.
Born on January 14, 1938 in Faribault, Minnesota, he was the son of Charles and Irene (Leischer) Peach. Donnie lived his entire life in the Waterville area. As a young boy, he lived on a farm north of Waterville. He attended a one-room school house in rural Waterville and at 9 years old, his family moved into Waterville. He continued his education in Waterville. Donnie married Florence Bohlen on October 8, 1961 at German Lake Lutheran Church. During his life-time, Donnie was employed at Herter’s in Waseca, Millers Manufacturing, Colonial Manor and Apex all in Waterville. Donnie and Florence also farmed north of Waterville. After moving into Waterville, they owned a plastic sign business and operated an in-home day care for over 30 years. Donnie and Florence were also foster parents to several children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Waterville.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Waterville; one son, Clinton (Bobbi) Peach of Waterville; granddaughter, Miya of New Brighton, and grandson, Jaden of Waterville; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dolores Miller, Bessie Zellmer, and Jolene Hagel; nephew, Michael Hagel; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Zellmer, Reinhold Hagel, Andrew Miller, and Leonard Maas.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Waterville. Visitation will be held one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church.
