Donald Joseph Kewatt

DONALD JOSEPH KEWATT, age 85, of Kilkenny, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Central Healthcare in Le Center. 

Born on October 12, 1938, in Kilkenny Township, Le Sueur County, he was the son of Theodore and Helen (Boldt) Kewatt. Donald attended Le Center High School, graduating with the class of 1956. On November 30, 1961, he was drafted into the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on November 29, 1963. In 1972, Donald continued his education at Ag School in Mankato until 1975. 

Donald was a lifelong farmer and was active in the agricultural and local community. He served on the Town Board, Cemetery Board, Church Board, Creamery Board and President of the Kilkenny Sportsman Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and dancing to polka music. Donald was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilkenny. 

Donald is survived by his brother, Jerry Kewatt of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law: Jeanette Kewatt of Le Center, and JoAnn Kewatt of Columbia Heights; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Orville (Regina) Kewatt, Louise (William) Bartusek, Betty (Delmer) Braun, Alvera (Arvid) Schnoor, Henry Kewatt, Charles Kewatt, Shirley (Arlie) Bluhm, Joan (Victor) Bruns; two sisters and one brother in infancy; and sister-in-law, LaVonne Kewatt. 

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. Peter's "Bell" Lutheran Church in LeSueur County. Interment will be in Sabre Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Memorial are preferred to the Waterville Sportsman Club or the Silver Lakers Sportsman Club.
