Donald F. Strauss

Donald Strauss, 79, of Janesville, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at his home.
Memorial service will be 11 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Faith Lutheran Church of Janesville, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will be in the Janesville Cemetery with Military Honors provided. Don was born September 16, 1937 to Frederick and Delilah (Kopischke) Strauss.
He graduated from Janesville High School in 1955 and was active in the United States Navy from 1955 1959.
On September 27, 1963 Don married Marion Merritt and together had four children.
Don enjoyed hunting and fishing in the area with his sons, and supporting his MN Vikings. He loved his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He will be remembered for sitting at his picnic table, enjoying a beer and listening to his 50s music.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marion; children, Brett (Janice Peterson) Strauss, Brad (Christine) Strauss, Melissa (Darren) Boeck, Chad (Brigitte) Strauss; grandchildren, Whitney, Christian, Izabella, Cassie, Kiara, Alexis, Zoe, Dillon, Kennedy, Kade and Lilly; great-grandchildren, Jalyn, Jaxon, Parker; siblings, Bob (Barb) Strauss, Helen Young and LeAnne (Mel) Schmidt; with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children; siblings, Laverne "Bud" Strauss, Orville Strauss.
