Donald Ervin Garten

DONALD ERVIN GARTEN, age 82, of Waldorf, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Allina Health Faribault Medical Center.

Born on February 26, 1940, in St. James, to Emmett and Laura (Lorenz) Garten. Donald had several siblings and enjoyed his up bringing in St. James. He was an avid sports fan. Donald enjoyed watching the birds at his feeders and was able to strike up a conversation with anybody.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Patty; children: Randy Garten, Joel Garten, Melissa (Aaron) Weber, and Jay (Julie) Garten; grandchildren: Tara (Trever), Wyatt, Austin, Chloe, and Russell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Rodney, Shirley, Mary, Laverne and Terry.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Donald and Patty Garten residence (75 Blashack Street, Waldorf, MN 56091). Private family interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery Columbarium in rural Waseca.

The family request that those who gather with them to wear sport memorabilia in remembrance of Don.
