DONALD ALFRED BRASE, age 86 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Lakeshore Inn in Waseca.
Born in Owatonna on November 12, 1930, Donald was the son of Carl and Hattie (Steinberg) Brase.  When he was young, he attended Brase Country School in Steele County.  On September 27, 1953, Don married Natalie Dinse at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  He and his wife worked the family farm in Meriden Township until he retired, then he helped his son.  He loved helping his son on the farm and was always ready to help his children and grandchildren when needed.  He loved playing cards, traveled extensively, and loved his farm animals – especially the cats.  He was a former member of the Owatonna Exchange Club, and was an active long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden.
Donald is survived by his wife, Natalie of Waseca; two children, Rodger & Helen Brase of Waseca, and Holly & Sheldon Meyer of Lake Crystal; six grandchildren, Ann & Miah Davis, Rebecca Brase, Bethany & Rob Higgins, Erin Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Bailey & Jackson Davis, Safira & Rohnan Brase; one sister-in-law, Audrey Brase of Owatonna; two brothers-in-law, Norman Dinse of Owatonna, and Edgar & Bonnie Dinse of Owatonna; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden, with Rev. Cheryl Indehar officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
