Dolores Dahnert
Dolores Arlene (Miller) Dahnert, 87, of Waseca died on Friday, December 30, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato after a brief illness.
Dolores was born February 24, 1929 to August and Lydia (Roesler) Miller in Wells, Minnesota. After growing up and attending school in Wells, she moved to Waseca where she met her husband, Raymond Frank Dahnert. They were united in marriage on September 19, 1947 in Wells, Minnesota and enjoyed 64 years of marriage before his death in 2012. Ray and Dolores completed their family by adopting their three children, Lisa, Jeff and Jill. Family was the most important thing to Dolores throughout her life.
Dolores worked for several businesses in Waseca before and after becoming a mother. She was a long-time cashier at Ben Franklin in Waseca and loved working with the public. She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca for many years, was a long-time member of the United Methodist Women and Mary Circle, and sang in the choir. She was a charter member of the Waseca Eagles Auxiliary, serving as president of the organization from 1989 to 1990.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Laura) of Lawrence, Kansas, and Jill (John) Ledbetter of San Marcos, Texas, grandson, William Sotir of Round Rock, Texas, brother, Darold (Linda) Miller of Wells, brother-in-law, Russell (Shirley) Dahnert of Waseca, sisters-in-law, Fern Papke, Margaret Dahnert and Vada Dahnert, all of Waseca, and many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her daughter, Lisa; her brother Maynard Miller; and her sister Harriet Swenson; as well as an infant sister.
Visitation will be at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 4-7 PM and continue on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Victor Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
