Diane Sue Schultz May 30, 1949 - September 19, 2013
Diane Sue Schultz, age 64 of Waseca, passed away on Thursday September 19, 2013, in her home while being attended to by her loving husband concluding a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Reverend Paige Whitney and Reverend Roger Haug, officiating. Private family interment will be held at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday afternoon.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 30, 1949, Diane was the daughter of Lon and Adell (Cote'') Pardo. Diane grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School in 1967 and attended Mankato State University. On August 15, 1970, Diane married Kent Schultz. After living for four years each in St. David''s, Bermuda and Clear Lake, Iowa, they settled in Waseca, MN for the past 35 years.
Diane worked as a bookkeeper for the US Government at NAS Bermuda, Andrews Pre- stress Concrete in Clear Lake, IA, and Rea''s Forget Me Not and Interiors Plus in Waseca. Although she worked outside the home for 23 years her first priority was always her family. Diane enjoyed acrylic painting, seasonal decorating, golfing, lunch with the girls, wine tasting and traveling. Diane was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she had served on the Grace Garden Board as Treasurer. She will be remembered by her friends and loved ones for her great concern for others and the twinkle in her eyes.
Diane is survived by her husband Kent of Waseca; son Eric and his wife Beth of Rosemount; daughter Brandy and her husband Sam Blum of Ironton; four grandchildren, Courtny, Noah, Neven and Nayden, and one sister Lynn and husband Mike Kane of Stillwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents Adell and Lon Pardo and brother Don Pardo. Memorials to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance are preferred rather than flowers the link to
