Diane Straube

DIANE MARIE STRAUBE, age 67 of Waseca, died at her home on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

Born in Waseca on March 26, 1953, Diane was the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Linde) Witt. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Janesville before graduating from Janesville High School. Diane married William Melvin Straube at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville on June 5, 1971. Diane spent over 40 of her working years providing daycare in the Waseca community. She enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, gardening, canning, baking, cooking, and playing bingo. She also loved going to the cabin and spending time with family and friends. Diane was always known for helping and doing things for others. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Diane is survived by her husband of 49 years, William of Waseca; her father, Donald Witt of Janesville; three children, Eric (Amy) Straube of Waseca, Nathan Straube of Waseca, and Nicholas Straube and his special friend, Nicki Schaper of Waseca; three grandchildren, Seyd Straube, Noah Alinder, and Sophie Alinder; and siblings, Debra Smith and her special friend Dennis Peterson of Waseca, Terri (Mike) Wolff of Eagle Lake, Jim (Debbie) Witt of Janesville, Lori (Duane) Page of Janesville, Cherrie (Ritchie) Johnson of Janesville; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Hawkins of Waseca and Carol Jones of Owatonna; and lots of nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great nephews who loved her. She was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents, Irene and Victor Witt and Carl and Lydia Linde; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Straube; her father-in-law, Melvin Straube; and two brothers-in-law, Dave Hawkins and Jim Jones.

A public visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.

A private family service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, followed by interment at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
