Diane Nelson January 31, 1949 - January 16, 2016

Diane M. Nelson, age 66, of Cannon Falls and formerly of Waseca died on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Diamond Rehab and Living Center in Cannon Falls, Minnesota following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at11:00 a.m. at North Waseca Lutheran Church in Waseca with Pastor Roger Haug officiating. Interment will be held at North Waseca Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Diane Marie, daughter of Walter and Sylvia (Huber) Nelson, was born on January 31, 1949 in Waseca, Minnesota. She attended country school and then attended high school in Owatonna until 11th grade. Diane worked as a nurse''s aide at ISJ Hospital in Mankato and at the Janesville Nursing Home. She also worked at Theradyne in Jordan before retiring. Diane enjoyed crafting, travelling, antiquing, and going to garage sales.

Diane is survived by her children, Doug (Pam) Stanke of Kasson, MN, Dennis Stanke of Eagle Lake, and Dawn (Jeremy) Anderson of Hastings; nine grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Pearl) Nelson of Burnsville; sister, Judy (Sylvan) Gerdts of Rochester; half-sister, Debra (Daryl) Draheim of Waseca; aunt, Delores Huber of Waseca; and by many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lyle; grandparents; uncle, Lester Huber; and very special friend, Sam Draxton.
