Delta Lee Thomas, nee Ross, 97, of Waseca passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Lakeshore Inn of Waseca.
Private family service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Sun City, Calif. Burial will be in the Riverside National Cemetery near March Air Force Base in California.

Delta was born on August 12, 1919, to Francis Monroe and Nora May Ross, nee Creed, in Morrisville, Mo. She attended school in Walnut Grove, Mo. where she graduated High School in 1937.
On August 16, 1942 Delta married William “Tommy” Thomas, Sr. in Walnut Grove, and raised their two children in Fontana, Calif. They moved to Fort Bragg, Calif., where she worked as a department store manager and retail buyer in the women’s clothing department at Sea Fair for several years. They later moved to Temecula, Calif. due to Tommy’s declining health later in life. In retirement, she continued to work at Target in Temecula until the age of 80.
Delta was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers of all types and colors. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, chocolate chip cookies and peach pies, as well as talking to her sisters, children and grandchildren on the phone regularly.
She is survived by her children, William Jr. (Penny) Thomas of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Cheryl (Daniel) Attig of Waseca; grandchildren, Michael Thomas of Pa., Kirk (Shelly) Thomas of Wash., Adam Attig (Jennifer) of Texas, Kevin (Michelle) Attig of Ill. and Jennifer (Todd) Norton of Waseca; sisters, Opal Bendikson of Temecula, Calif. and Pauline King of Walnut Grove, Mo.; 1 niece, 4 nephews and other friends.
Delta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Wilma Parish, Goldie Haze and Velma Ross, brother Leland Ross and two grandsons, Robert and Ronald Thomas.
