Delores Ann Mulcahey

DELORES ANN MULCAHEY, age 81, of Waseca passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Foxdale Senior Living in Waseca.

Born on September 8, 1943 in Owatonna, Delores was the daughter of Joseph and Pauline (Vasicek) Skalicky. She attended District 11 County School until the sixth grade. She graduated from Owatonna High School with the class of 1961. Delores was the oldest of five children and they lived on the family farm where she loved helping her father with daily chores. She was united in marriage to John Mulcahey on June 27, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. After they were married, John and Delores moved to Waseca and spent their entire married life in the same home. Together, they raised four children: Jeff, Shirley, Tammy and Katie.

Delores began her career working at Jostens in Owatonna. She became a stay-at-home mom until she decided to reenter the workforce. She worked at EF Johnson until the company divided then worked at Itron until her retirement. In her spare time, Delores enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, baking and cake decorating, embroidery, sewing and arts and crafts. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. 

Delores is survived by her children, Jeff Mulcahey of New Hope, Shirley “Sam” Mulcahey of Mason City, IA, Tammy (Bart) Jans of Sioux Falls, SD, Katie Mulcahey of South Metro; grandchildren, Jordan Flaherty, Tanner Flaherty, Bo (Maddie) Jans, Blake (Emma) Jans, Bryar Jans, Jailynn Green, Major Guidry; great-grandchildren, Lola Jans, Etta Jans, Jaxson Jans, Nora Jans; siblings, John (Sharon) Skalicky of Owatonna, Nancy McGregor of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mulcahey, parents, Joseph and Pauline Skalicky; sister, Loretta Ball; and brother, Jerome Skalicky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Visitation will take place one and a half hours prior to the service at the church. Private interment will take place at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Janesville.
