Delores D. Lau, 93 year old resident of Waseca, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 10, 2018, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
A service to celebrate her life will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Giles Zimmer, officiating. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorials are preferred to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Delores Darline was born on October 19, 1924, in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Elsie (Schaetzke) and Carl Doss. She was baptized on November 16, 1924, and confirmed on August 29, 1937, all at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Delores attended school in Pemberton, graduating with the class of 1942.
A young man named Marvin Lau worked on her parents farm. They met, fell in love, and were united in marriage on December 29, 1942 in Alma City. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before Marvin passed away on December 28, 2004. Together they raised three children in Waseca where they resided their entire married life.
While Marvin was alive they enjoyed spending time at Delores family farm near Pemberton. Delores helped with the mowing and whatever job Marv needed help with; as well as enjoyed her time working at Laus Meat Market. She was a faithful member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Delores enjoyed playing cards with her special lady friends from church, crocheting, quilting at church and attending church luncheons.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Diane Grosland and her husband, David of Iowa City, IA; son, Robert and his wife Jane, of Pemberton; granddaughters: Nicole Grosland and her husband, Vincent Magnotta, Jacalyn McCarville and her husband, Alan and their son, August all from Iowa City, IA; sisters-in-law: Gloria Doss of Waseca, Arlene Braun of Pemberton, Doris Waknitz of Waldorf, Betty Prechel of Waseca and Sharon Boyd of Waterville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 2004; son, David in 1981; parents: Elsie and Carl Doss; brother Laverne.
