Delilah Mae Phillips was born on July 17, 1956, in Hankinson, North Dakota to George and Ada (Sukut) Arth. She attended Waldorf-Pemberton Grade School and later graduated from Waseca High School with the class on 1974. On April 1, 1978, Dee was united in marriage to Thomas Phillips at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Together they made their home on the Phillips Family Farm outside of Waldorf. In December of 1984, Dee and Tom were blessed with the opportunity to adopt three siblings into their loving family.
Following her education, she began working at EF Johnson in Waseca and later as a teachers aid at Waldorf-Pemberton and JWP for 15 years until her health no longer allowed. The job Dee was most proud of was being a foster mom, daycare mom and especially a mother and grandmother. Dee loved children! She enjoyed gardening, baking, and shopping. She always looked forward to spending the winters in Texas. Dee is remembered for her will to live as she persevered through illnesses throughout her life. Although she had her own struggles she was always their to lend a listening ear to her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
Dee is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Tom; children: Ada (James) Kostelnik of Waseca, Michelle Phillips of Waseca and George (Crystal) Phillips of Mankato; grandchildren: Carter Kostelnik, Noah Vahlsing, Emma Donnay, Olivia Sieberg and Elijah and Caleb Phillips; siblings: Jeff (Pam) Arth of Farmington, Larry Arth of Sarasota, FL and Deb (Tony) Chadwick of Owatonna; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mindy Arth of Issaquah, WA, Mary (Roger) Palo of Minneapolis, Michael Phillips of Morristown, James (Arlene) Phillips of Lafayette, and Brian (Agnes) Phillips of Hermiston, OR; many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
