David R. Sexton

David R. Sexton, 67, of Waseca, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Christ Community Church (2200 4th St. NE) of Waseca, with a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
Arrangements are being completed by the Starkson & Steffel Funeral and Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca.
David was born March 6, 1950 to Robert and Margaret (Passe) Sexton in Wabasha, Minnesota. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Millville and graduated high school in 1968.
After graduation, he attended schooling in Mankato, and eventually moved to Waseca to begin working at Brown Printing.
On February 16, 1985, he married his best friend, Wendy Bakken and together raised two boys.
David retired proudly after 41 years at Brown Printing as an estimator.
Most recently he enjoyed his winters in Branson, Missouri away from the cold and playing cards his family. In past times, he enjoyed gardening with his family on their acre and a half vegetable garden, where they spent over 15 years bringing produce to the farmers market. Time with his grandchildren was important, and he supported them in everything they did.
He will be remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, dad and grandpa who gave sound advice, humility and logical ways to all he knew.
David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wendy; sons, Michael (Melissa) Sexton of Waseca and Matthew (Sarah) Sexton of the Twin Cities; grandchildren, Alissa, Anna, Ella and Ethan; brothers, Vincent (Sheri) Sexton, Allen (Merilee) Sexton; sisters, Eileen (Don) Oliver and Ruth (Pete) Holmstadt, with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Sexton.
