David Warren Papke

DAVID “FRED” WARREN PAPKE, age 75, of Waseca passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Lakeshore Rehabilitation Center. 

Born on May 1, 1949 in Waseca, David was the son of Lester and Joan (Henthorne) Papke. He attended Waseca Central School and graduated with the class of 1967. He enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years until he was honorably discharged. He worked for the Will’s Company until his retirement. David was united in marriage to Dori Sonnek on May 7, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. David was a member of the American Legion Post 228, member Memorial Day Association.

David was survived by his wife, Dori Papke of Waseca; son, Ryan Papke of Waseca; sister, Sandy (Randy) Peterson of Waseca and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Pratt; grandparents, Albert and Frieda Papke; and uncle, Myron “Packhorse” Papke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Visitation will be from 4 – 6 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Glenn Frerichs officiating. Interment will be at Woodville Cemetery.
