DAVID HAROLD KRUSE, age 77, of rural Janesville, died on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on April 29, 1947, in Mankato, he was the son of Raymond and Elsie (Hollmichel) Kruse. He grew up in St. Clair and graduated with the class of 1965. Following his education, David enlisted into the United State Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971. David was united in marriage to Rose Marie Kaiser on October 03, 1987, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf. Together they made their home in rural Janesville, raising three children.
For most of his life, David was self-employed, owning and operating both Kruse Insulation and Kruse Repair. He earned a reputation as someone who could fix anything, and he was always ready to lend a hand to those around him. Whether you needed a repair or a laugh, David was the first person to show up, often accompanied by a joke or story to brighten the day. His sense of humor was infectious to those around him. David was a member of the South Central Saddle Club and enjoyed showing horses with his family as they traveled across the Midwest, competing in shows and creating lasting memories together. An animal lover at heart, David cared deeply for his farm pets and wildlife, and he even proudly owned a pet lion for several years. His family will remember him as someone they could always count on in any situation, ready to help without hesitation.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose; children: Dillon Kruse of Janesville; Dustyne (Max) Bohlig of St. Paul, and Walker Kruse of Janesville; grandchildren: Brynlee Kruse and Jack Bohlig; four sisters; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Dennis Kruse, Jimmy Kruse, Sr. Ramona Kruse, Rita Gaffer, Jeri Kruse, and Evon Kruse; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Belvy Kaiser.
