DAVID ERVIN MARZINSKE, age 76, of rural Waldorf died on July 2, 2022, at the New Richland Care Center.
Born on February 25, 1946, in Waseca to Robert and Marie (Klampe) Marzinske. David was baptized as an infant on March 17, 1946 and confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 15, 1960 all at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. He attended Waldorf-Pemberton Public School, graduating with the class of 1964. David furthered his education at Mankato State University. It was while attending Mankato State where David met Valley Henderson, through mutual friends and they were united in marriage on June 28, 1969, in Northfield. In 1970, David was drafted into the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1972. Following his time with the military, David and Valley moved to rural Waldorf where they raised their four daughters. David was a salesman for Watkins Feed starting in 1972 and continued this career throughout his life until his health no longer allowed, as he loved his visits with local farmers. In his free time, David enjoyed hunting and hiking in the mountains. He served his community as a member of the Waldorf-Pemberton and J-W-P School Boards. Above all else David’s life revolved around serving the Lord and passing on his faith to his children and grandchildren. He was an active, lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City where he served as an elder and on the church council for many years.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Valley; daughters: Amy (Jeremy) Doerhoefer, Tammy (Kevin) Foss, Kim (Steve) Manning, and Mindy (Nate) Scharlemann; grandchildren: Jeff (Sara), Cody (Elaina), Ryan, and Evan Doerhoefer; Acacia, John, Maddie, and Ben Foss; Kyle and Valerie Manning; Tristan (Kayla), Lexi, Ellie, and Brody Scharlemann; great grandchildren: Jacob Doerhoefer, and Olivia and Taylor Scharlemann; siblings: Marlys Roemhildt of Pemberton, and Bob (LeAnn) Marzinske of rural Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
