David Byer
DAVID BYER, age 64 of Waseca died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home in Waseca.
Born on March 26, 1953 in New Ulm, Minnesota, he was the son of LeRoy and Dorothy (Brandel) Byer. David married Beverly Wilmes on April 24, 1976. He made sure the wedding was after Easter but before the racing season. Davids passions include motorcycling, snowmobiling, motorcycle hill climbing, water skiing, sailing, traveling and finding the best curvy roads in the country. David also loved finding and eating the local cuisine when traveling. He held dear all those he came in contact with in his adventures. His only regret was not being able to watch his granddaughter Maggie grow up as he was so proud of her.
David is survived by his wife, Bev of Waseca; one daughter, Janelle Byer and his cherished son-in-law, Ryan Bell of Ham Lake; granddaughter, Margaret Bell; father, LeRoy Byer of New Ulm; sisters, Julie (Stephen) Stanley of Desert Hot Springs, CA; Marie Sweet of Wynona, OK; Alice (Roger) Plechaty of Frankfort, IL; and brother, Steven Byer of Side Lake, MN. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nadine Wilmes; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jim) Sprengeler; and brother-in-law, Charles (Jane) Wilmes all of Janesville; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; sister, Joan Byer; father-in-law, Roger Wilmes; and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1-4 PM at the American Legion in Waseca. A short service and time of remembrance will be held at 4:00 PM.
