David Brian Ferch

David Brian Ferch, age 53, of rural Mapleton, died on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Park Nicolette Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Reverend Victor Waters officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church.
Memorials are preferred.
David Ferch was born on February 12, 1964, in Waseca to Vernon and Karen (Olson) Ferch. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1982, where he was very active in band as a bass drummer and a member of the Waseca Marching Jays. Dave was always involved in food service. In high school, he worked at Barneys and the Yellow Mushroom. He worked for Mr. Steak for some time before beginning a 16 year career at Minnesota State University in Mankato and in 2003, he began working as a dining manager at Gustavus Adolphus College where he met his wife, Christi. They were married on July 14, 2005, and shared 12 years of marriage. Dave loved music, especially rock and roll. He was a standing member of the Kiss Army. He was a generous, fun loving guy with a big and soft heart, he was a friend to everyone and mentor to many.
David is survived by his wife Christi of Mapleton; children: Travis (Tara) Jenkins of Nashville, TN, Bradley Jenkins of Biloxi, MS, and Jaynie (Nick) Lloyd of Lakeville; parents, Vernon and Karen Ferch of Waseca; brothers: Mike (Tammi) of Owatonna and Jim (Becky) of Waseca; father and mother-in-law, Wendy and John Maupin of Grand Rivers, KY; sisters-in-law: Katie (David) Walker of Grand Rivers, KY and Amy (Mike) Turnbow Paducah, KY; brother-in-law, Nathan Maupin of Grand Rivers, KY; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
