Darlene Emily Seberson

DARLENE EMILY SEBERSON, age 88 of Waseca, died in the early morning of Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Whispering Creek in Janesville.

Darlene was born in Dodge Center, MN on August 4, 1936 to parents Myron and Doris (Crandall) Tainter. She attended school in Owatonna before going to work to help support her family. In June of 1966 Darlene was married to Ronald Seberson in New Richland. They had met at the Rendezvous Café in Waseca where she waited tables and Ronald often ate his evening meal. Darlene went on to work at Bird’s Eye Foods for a short time before she began working in the bindery at Brown Printing Company for a career that would span over forty years. She was proud to be one of the “quarter-century club” members at Brown and she created many lasting friendships during her time there. Darlene enjoyed cooking, camping with family, shopping, and was known to many for her famous cakes. Her first and greatest love, though, were her children and grandchildren and she rarely missed a concert or sporting event to support them. 

Darlene is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-eight years, Ronald Seberson Sr. of Waseca; four sons, Ronald Seberson, Jr., Richard Seberson, Ricky Seberson, and Randy (Denise) Seberson all of Waseca; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Ernie (Linda) Tainter of Winona, and Donna Clark of Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim; a daughter, Linda; a granddaughter, Jessica; and siblings Delores, Myrna, Robert, Marlys, and Phyliss.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, with Rev. Eric Ishimaru officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
