Daniel Dillon March 8, 1926 - June 7, 2011

Daniel W. Dillon, age 85, of Faribault, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services. Daniel William, the son of William and Susan (Thom) Dillon, was born on March 8, 1926 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1944. On May 4, 1948 he was united in marriage to Janice Schmidt in Cleveland, MN. Dan farmed all of his life in Wells Township and also worked evenings on the second shift at McQuay''s for 40 years from 1954 to 1994. He loved farming and was a hard working man. He loved tractors and especially enjoyed showing his antique tractor at the Rice County Steam and Gas Engine show. He also enjoyed traveling when time permitted them to do that. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #889 in Faribault. He is survived by his wife Janice Dillon of Faribault; by six children, Tom (Roxanne) Dillon of Faribault, Deborah (Mark) Gillen of Faribault, Patsy (Kenny) Neymeyer of Faribault, Pam Dillon of Morristown, Bob Dillon of Faribault and Deanne Panos of Medford; by 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
