Curtis O. Meyer, age 77 of Janesville, died on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin and Vicar Michael Schuette, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Curtis Otto was born on August 10, 1933 in Waseca, Minnesota to Herman and Sophia (Wrucke) Meyer. He attended Trinity Lutheran School thru 9th grade, and graduated from Janesville High School in 1951. Curtis was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1955-1957 state side. He farmed with his father before and after his honorable discharge from military service. Curtis was united in marriage on September 7, 1958 to Janet Deming at the Associated Church in Owatonna, Minnesota. Curtis and Janet have resided on their crop and livestock farm their entire married life. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and over the years he held several church offices. He was a member of the Janesville American Legion Post # 281. Curtis was a former member of the Waseca County Pork producers, and Waseca Farm Home Management. His family was very important to him. He enjoyed watching sprint car races, the Vikings and the Twins. Curtis and Janet enjoyed traveling, especially visiting Amish areas. He is survived by his wife Janet of Janesville; by his children: Lee Ann (Tom) Evans of Eagan, Russ Meyer of Oakland, CA, Dawn (Art) Tobin of Hudson, WI, and Darla (Michael) Jewison of Janesville; by his grandchildren, Ryan (Laurie) Evans, Tyler Evans and Mychael Evans, Nancy Tobin, Crystal Tobin, Cole Tobin and Mathias Tobin, Mitchell Jewison and Amber Jewison; by his great grandchildren, Joshua Parker, and Isabella Tobin; by his sisters Nadine (Dean) Grimm, and Fauniece (Gene) Witt; by three sisters-in- law and two brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Sophia Meyer; his in-laws Sterling and Vera Deming; by his infant brother Herman Jr., and his sister Marlene Roberts; by his brothers-in-law Ed Roberts, Sterling and James Deming. Casketbearers are his grandsons: Mitch Jewison, Cole Tobin, Mathias Tobin, Ryan Evans, Tyler Evans, and Mychael Evans.
