Curtis Collin Holter, age 12, the son of Brad and Patty Holter, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 due to injuries sustained in a truck and bicycle accident. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faribault Evangelical Free Church (1039 St. Paul Ave.) in Faribault, with Pastors Dan Van Loon and Dan Ford, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Curtis Collin Holter, the son of Bradley and Patricia (Bussert) Holter, was born on November 4, 1996 in St. Paul, MN. Curtis currently was in 7th grade at the Faribault Middle School, where he was involved in band. He was greatly involved in his church''s youth group, which has done many volunteer and service projects in Faribault, including Shine 2009. He also was very involved with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Faribault. Curtis loved animals and cared for two dogs and his own cat at home. He played baseball as a youth and enjoyed riding bikes near his home with neighbors. He enjoyed playing in the woods at home and sliding in the winter with his family. Curtis was well liked by many and will always be remembered for his great smile and laugh. He is loved and will be missed by his parents, Brad and Patty Holter of Faribault; siblings, Tommy, Mikayla, and Joshua at home; maternal grandmother, Rita Bussert of Faribault; paternal grandmother, Carol Holter of Cambridge; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives; his Big Brother, Ben, and all of his many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Bussert and Leon Holter. Memorials may be directed to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota in memory of Curtis.
