Connie J. Wendler May 5, 1951 - February 26, 2014
Connie J. Wendler, age 62, of Janesville, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Mayo Health Systems ~ Mankato following a recent illness.
A Celebration of Connie''s Life will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville, with Funeral Celebrant Laurie Stoeger, officiating. Interment will be held at the Smiths Mill Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday for one hour prior to services.
It was Connie''s wish to donate her body to science to help with future advances in medicine.
Connie Jean, the daughter of Arlow and Harriet (Salsbury) Cowdin, was born on May 5, 1951 in Mankato. She attended Janesville High School and graduated with the class of 1969. Over the years, Connie dedicated herself to helping others in many various ways. She enjoyed being a foster grandparent at grade schools in Janesville, Mankato, Blue Earth and Fairmont. Connie also enjoyed being active at Janesville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and recently had been volunteering with American Red Cross, Mayo Health Systems Hospice in Mankato, driving people to medical appointments and helping at the Waseca County Food Shelf. Most of all, Connie enjoyed being very active in her children and grandchildren''s lives.
She is survived by her children and families, Tim (Katie) Wendler and children, Dalton, Kortnee (Kyle Morris) and Austin of Pemberton and Victoria Wendler and children, Ashtyn and Jackson of Ivanhoe, MN; her significant other, Al Risk Sr. of Elmore; her best friend, Edith Malloy of Kasota; her poodle, Sophie, and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her granddaughter, Angel.
