Connie M. Erickson, age 96, of Faribault died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a sudden illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, with Fr. Kevin Finnegan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Divine Mercy Catholic Church Organ Fund or the choice of the donor in memory of Connie. Constance Mary Thibault, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (LeMieux) Thibault, was born on January 25, 1914 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School and St. Theresa''s College in Winona. She married Donald Erickson on June 21, 1938 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1992. Connie taught 3rd Grade at Immaculate Conception School for 22 years. She loved music and was the Choir Director and Organist for many years and had been a member of the church choir for 80 years. Connie volunteered and devoted a great amount of her time to her church and people in the community. She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Divine Mercy. She consistently would visit many people in nursing homes. Connie was recognized by the Faribault Daily News for generosity by being named an Unsung Hero. She dearly loved her family and was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Mary Kay Lockner of Faribault, Mike (Marcy) Erickson of Decorah, Iowa , and Donna (Dana) Couch of Dana Point, CA; grandchildren and great grandchildren, John (Carol) Lockner and children, Ean and Reese; Kate (Jerry) Kotek and children, Jessica (Connor) McKeown and Erik Kotek; Chris (Kathy) Lockner and children, Jake and Sam; Seth (Laurena) Lockner; Aimee (Omar) Martinez and children, Olivia, Ethan, and Elaina; Elizabeth (Mark) Patton and son, Vaughn; Caitlin Couch (fiance, Chris Malek); and Andy Erickson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Elaine Little and Carmen Deney; two brothers, Arthur and Bernard Thibault; son-in-law, Jack Lockner; and grandson in infancy.
