Clifton 'Cliff' R. Benton Sr. June 20, 1957 - June 6, 2014

Clifton "Cliff" R. Benton Sr., age 56, of rural Minnesota Lake, died peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014 at his home following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca with, Pastor Hilary Korynta officiating. Interment will be held at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Clifton Rudolph Benton Sr., the son of Robert Owen and Mary (Paul) Benton, was born on June 20, 1957 in York, South Carolina. He was united in marriage to Glenda Brown on June 9, 1990 also in York. They later moved to rural Minnesota Lake where Cliff enjoyed working for Sommertime Dairy for 18 years. He also loved to hunt, fish, work outdoors and spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Glenda of rural Minnesota Lake; his children, Jessie Wilson of Laurens, SC, Jackie Moore of Laurens, SC, Johnny Benton of South Carolina, Amanda Santoro of Waldorf, MN, John Brindle of Clover, South Carolina, Robert Brindle of South Carolina, and Clifton Benton Jr. of Austin, MN; his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his mother, Mary Paul-Benton of Mankato, MN; his brothers, James Benton of Bessmer City, NC and Robert Benton of Mankato, MN, and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Owen Benton and his mother-in-law, Maxine Brown on April 27, 2014.
