CLARICE ANN SHAW, age 86, of Pemberton, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato.
Born on July 20, 1934, in St. Clair to Hubert and Ludgart (Baumgartner) Hodapp. She attended country school in Tivoli and later in St. Clair. On March 14, 1949, Clarice was united in marriage to Marvin Shaw. Clarice and Marvin lived their entire married life in Pemberton where they raised their five children. They shared 52 years of marriage together before Marvin passed away on November 13, 2001.
Clarice and Marvin owned and operated the Pemberton Cafe, she also spent many years volunteering at the MCRI Thrift Store. She enjoyed being outside tending to her garden, going shopping with her daughters, and rides to the casino with her husband. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Clarice always had the coffee pot on for any family & friends that showed up in the mornings, her door was always open. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Clarice is survived by her children: Tammy Shaw of Chandler, AZ, Jack Shaw of New Richland and Julie (Mark) Meyer of Mapleton; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard L. Ruch of Pemberton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Shaw of North Mankato; sister, Carol Lafayette of Waseca; sister-in-law, Norma Hodapp of Owatonna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Darla Ruch; son, James Shaw; infant son, Jerry Shaw; siblings: Bernard Hodapp, Phyllis Hall, Eileen Goebel, Herbert Hodapp, and Bob Hodapp.
Private family services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Interment will be in Medo Central Cemetery in rural Pemberton.
