- CHRISTINE “CHRIS” ANNA SCHULTZ, age 74, of Waseca peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in Waseca.

- Born on May 4, 1949 in Faribault, she was the daughter of Vernon and Loretta Schwartz. She graduated from Waterville High School with honors in 1967. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Schultz on October 12, 1968 at Holy Trinity Church in Waterville. Together, they welcomed two children, Ski Ann and Richard C. and later divorced. Chris worked at EF Johnson for over 40 years. While working at EFJ she earned her Associates degree from South Central College. She also worked part-time throughout the years at Walters Cookbooks, Wahi’s, McDonalds and Emerson/Cinch.

- It was while Chris was working at Wahi’s that she met her love, Kenneth Gottschalk. Together, they enjoyed going to auctions, toy shows, Pioneer Power, Rochester Gold Rush Day, and craft sales. She enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, mowing lawn on her parents farm, gardening, and making her family all types of their favorite jam. Chris would spend time sewing and making beautiful ceramic pieces and other figurines. She was known to collect many chickens and roosters throughout her lifetime. She will be dearly missed.

- Chris is survived by; children, Ski Ann (Mark) Christiansen of Waseca, Richard Schultz of Bensenville, IL; her love of over 32 years, Ken Gottschalk of Waseca; grandchildren, Taylor (Allie) Zinkle of Waseca, Parker Christiansen of Waseca, Spencer Christiansen of Waseca; Patrick (Indira) Schultz of Bensenville, IL, Charlie (Joe Brabeck) Schultz of Glendale Heights, IL; siblings, Linda (Marshall) Nelson of Waseca, Loren “Curly” (Arlene) Schwartz of Elysian; and many other relatives and friends.

- She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Loretta Schwartz; and several aunts and uncles.

- Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

- Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
