Carol Jean Lafayette

CAROL JEAN LAFAYETTE, age 82, of Waseca, formerly of Janesville died on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Carol was born on March 14, 1941, in St. Clair to Hubert and Ludgart (Baumgartner) Hodapp. She attended St. Clair Public School. On June 8, 1963, Carol was united in marriage to Harlan Lafayette at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Carol and Harlan resided in various communities including Alma City, St. Clair, Madelia, Eagle Lake, Janesville, and Waseca. Carol worked for Tony Downs in Madelia for 27 years. She also worked for Birds Eye and Brown Printing in Waseca. She loved her cats and enjoyed going for walks.

Carol is survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Bernard Hodapp, Phyllis Hall, Clarice Shaw, Eileen Boebel, Herbert Hodapp, and Bob Hodapp.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
