CAROL JEAN MORE, age 84, died on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Carol was born at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato on October 29, 1936. She was the daughter of Richard and Edna (Fesselt) Schull. She was baptized in Alma City as a child and was later confirmed at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. As a young girl, Carol attended Perch Lake country school before graduating from Mapleton High School with the class of 1954. She went on to continue her education in secretarial and administrative work at the Mankato Commercial College before beginning to work at the Southern Minnesota Supply Company. Carol was married to Alvis Fay More on September 24, 1956 and they made a wonderful life together until his passing in October 2011. She was a woman of few words, and she never complained to anyone about anything. She enjoyed traveling and planned numerous trips for herself and others including destinations like Hawaii, Europe, and Alaska. She was a talented knitter and enjoyed crocheting, etching glass, cooking, gardening, playing cards and bingo, working all kinds of puzzles, and attending sporting events for her family and their friends. Carol also had a great love for history and genealogy. She had been a member of the PTA, the Athletic Backers, and was very involved at Freedom Lutheran Church where she had been a member for many, many years.
Carol is survived by her children, Steve (Noreen) More of Pemberton, Jeff (Julie) More of Mapleton, Debra (Carl) Fugleberg of Byron, Lynda (Steve) Kruse of St. Clair, Marvin (Alicia) More of St. Clair, and Larry (Holli) More of Byron; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Birr of Mankato and Janelle Imm of Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, JoAnn Lavitschke and Janice Westphal; and one daughter-in-law, Lori More.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, August 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Larry Sipe of Freedom Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Freedom Cemetery.
