She graduated from Spooner High School, and went on to earn her Secretarial Science degree from Rice Lake Technical College in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. In 1969 Carol was united in marriage to Paul Ecker in Spooner. Carol and Paul lived in St. Paul, New Hope, and in 1975 moved to Buffalo, MN. They later divorced. Carol had a long, fulfilling career as a unit coordinator for the Buffalo Hospital, and later as a secretary/unit coordinator for New Beginnings in Waverly. She enjoyed her work and made many friends. On October 22, 1994 she married Daniel J. Wines in Buffalo and was happily married for 18 years. Carol and Dan continued to reside in Buffalo until moving to Waseca in 2004. Carol was active in each of the communities where she lived. She enjoyed traveling, having coffee with friends, gardening, bowling, bingo, pokeno, movies, painting, and playing Wii. She loved watching NASCAR, and having grown up in Wisconsin, was a huge Packer fan! Everyone that met Carol could feel how she could light up a room with her beautiful smile and twinkle in her eyes. She had a positive attitude toward life, even as she faced many health issues, including her 26 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
