BRIAN SCOTT “MASSEY” EWEST, age 66, of Waseca, died with his family by his side, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s Campus, in Rochester.
He was born on March 6, 1958, in Waseca. He was the son of Harold and Leona (Meyer) Ewest. He graduated from Waseca High School, Class of 1976. On November 20, 1987, he married Kathy Bauman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waseca. Brian loved farming, especially farm tractors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, spending time at his cabin on the lake, and boating. For many years he raised pheasants and poultry, and you could always catch him rooting on the Minnesota Vikings for a win. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his bible studies and has been a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waseca.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Christopher (Josie) Frank of Fairmont, Cory Frank of Owatonna, Chad (Samantha) Frank of Waseca, Heather (Jason) Lange of Waterville, Corky (Tammy) Frank of Glenville; grandchildren, Wyatt, Emily, Desirae, Jaden, Andrew, Michael, Tristen, Indy, Brandon, Austin, Mackenzie, Chandler, Allie; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Galen Ewest of Waseca, Brad (Barb) Ewest of Ankeny, Iowa; his special dog Tucker, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Wayne and Jeanette Bauman, and grandson Hunter.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, at Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service – Third Street Chapel in Waseca. Interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca, at a later date.
