Brenda Jean Atkisson

BRENDA JEAN (DEWITT) ATKISSON, age 73 of Waseca, died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her home.

She was born on March 26, 1951, in Beverly, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Charles and Frances (Bennett) Dewitt. At a young age, her family moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She attended McCaskey High School in Lancaster. She was married three times before meeting Lloyd Eugene Atkisson, whom she married in 1992. Together they went on to live their lives until Lloyd’s passing in December of 2010. Brenda worked at Walmart until her retirement. She enjoyed camping and collecting fenton baskets.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Roxanne) Spangler of Waseca, Sumer Brien of California, John Gockley of Waseca; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Sherry Dewitt, Patty (Mike) Wilds, Heidi (Jim) Bushong, Chuck (Tammy) Dewitt, Bret Dewitt, Kevin (Tina) Dewitt, Brian (Lorrie) Dewitt, and Keith Dewitt. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, brother Shawn Lefever, and grandson Romey Gockley.
