BRADLEY DONALD “BRAD” MORRIS, age 58 of Waseca passed away from a sudden and unexpected battle with cancer on September 12, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus in Rochester.
He was born on March 8, 1966, in Mankato. He was the son of Glen Sr. and Velma (Bluhm) Morris. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1984. He attended Albert Lea Technical College for Diesel Mechanics and worked for the Department of Transportation in Owatonna as a heavy equipment mechanic for 29 years.
Brad loved the outdoors. He was an active member of the Wilderness Inquiry Team that connected people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to enjoy the outdoors, with activities of canoeing, kayaking and dogsledding. Brad enjoyed ongoing friendships from the people he met. He enjoyed hunting and camping, making several trips to Montana to visit relatives and to hunt and enjoy the beautiful country there. Brad really enjoyed 4-wheeling; he was often the “Trail Boss”, adventuring to South Dakota, and Minnesota’s North Shore. He enjoyed fishing and boating on Leech Lake for rest and relaxation with family and friends, making many wonderful memories. He was an active member of the Owatonna Scuba Diving Club. He enjoyed scuba diving and the extra diverse social activities that the club held, along with all the bonds built with his scuba families for the past 30+ years. Brad was a true lover of nature.
He is survived by his siblings, Chuck (Melodie) Morris, Bruce (Brenda) Morris; nieces and nephews, Moranda Morris, Marissa (Ian) Pringle, Glen Morris III (fiancé Adam Dachowics), Bryan Morris (fiancé Sara Weed), and BreAnna Morris. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held, Friday, September 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at the Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service - State Street Chapel in Waseca. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the funeral home, visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
