Bonita "Bonnie" Faye Sonday, age 93, of St. Clair died peacefully Friday evening, November 30, 2018, at Oak Terrace of North Mankato.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Rev. Matthew Grunewald officiating. Interment will be in Smiths Mill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ Arnoldt Chapel of Janesville. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorials are preferred to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair.

Bonita Faye was born on August 11, 1925, in Mankato. The only daughter of Edward and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Abraham) Krause. She was baptized as an infant at her home and confirmed in her faith as a youth at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill. Bonnie was raised on a farm north of Smiths Mill. She attended Country School #73 before graduating from Janesville High School in 1943. On October 4, 1946, Bonnie was united in marriage to Floyd "Bud" Sonday in Lincoln, Nebraska. Together they raised their family and farmed for 35 years north of Smiths Mill retiring together in 1979. Upon retiring, Bonnie and Bud moved to Waseca where Bonnie worked part time at various businesses. Bonnie moved to St. Clair in 1992, after Bud moved to the VA Home in St. Cloud. They shared 59 years of marriage before Bud passed away in 2006.
Bonnie enjoyed playing cards with the "500 Card Club", going fishing and camping with Bud, and traveling. Bonnie was hard working and a true farm wife. She was a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair, where she was involved in Ladies Aid for many years. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Bonnie is survived by her sons: David (Gerry) of St. Clair and Dale (Maureen) of Waseca; grandchildren: Jeremy Sonday, Jenny (Dave) Stenger, Dan (Wendy) Sonday, Christopher Sonday, and Sarah (Doug Carlson) Sonday; great grandchildren: Mia and Sophie Sonday, Logan, Ella, and Cole Stenger, Dylan Sonday, Samuel Sonday and Joseph Ciotti; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
