Bill Flintrop, age 61, of Hopkins died peacefully following a three year battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 8 PM on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca and will continue for one hour prior to the Mass at Church on Friday.
Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Peace Hospice (2076 St. Anthony Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104).
William John Flintrop was born on June 25, 1957 in Mankato to Joseph and Margaret (Caven) Flintrop. Bill grew up in rural Waseca where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School through 8th Grade and later graduated in 1975 from Waseca High School. He furthered his education at St. Johns University in Collegeville, graduating in 1979 with a major in business. After graduating from St. Johns, Bill attended the University of Minnesota Law School graduating in 1983.
Bill was a real-estate agent in the metro area for most of his life. He enjoyed cooking and baking his famous fudge and french silk pie. Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the world. He was a life long learner and loved to read. Above all else family was most important to Bill and the time he shared with his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
Bill is survived by his mom, Margaret Flintrop of Waseca; siblings: Eileen (Tom) Jewison of Janesville, Kathy Flintrop of Coldwater, OH, Teresa Fimon of Stewartville, Dorothy (Lorin) Pohlman of Wanamingo, Jim (Donna) Flintrop of Waseca; many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his father; nephew, Billy Pohlman; brother-in-law: Curtis Fimon.
