Beverly Sue Clark, age 91, formerly of Rochester and Waseca, went home to be with her Savior on August 31 at Homestead Hospice House of Owatonna.
Beverly was born on August 8, 1930 in Kasson to Ellsworth Lee and Leatha Patterson. She graduated from Kasson High School in 1948 and from the Kahler School of Nursing as an RN in 1951. She also attended Bethel College from 1952-1954.
While attending Bethel, Beverly worked as a nurse and met her future husband, Quintin, through a coworker. They had their first date in April of 1954 and were married in December that same year in West Concord.
She worked as an RN at Methodist Hospital in Rochester and was a homemaker/stay-at-home mom for many years. She later became a licensed insurance agent and worked in her husband’s agency.
Being a member at Calvary Evangelical Free Church of Rochester for 55 years brought many opportunities to teach Sunday School, work in AWANA, host youth group gatherings, and serve in Women’s Ministries. Beverly also served on the board of Christian Women’s Club for eleven years.
Beverly will be remembered by many as being a caring and loving wife, mother, and friend. She served faithfully with her gift of hospitality, constantly inviting church visitors for a delicious meal and making sure people felt welcomed. Serving others in this capacity lead to many of her closest friendships.
She was passionate about her faith. Beverly wanted everyone with whom she came in contact to know that Jesus loved them and that He wanted to have a personal relationship with them. One of her favorite verses was I John 5:13 “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” This verse brought great comfort to Beverly in her final months of life. She had confidence that when she left this earth, she would see her Savior face-to-face.
Beverly is survived by two children, Andrew (Darlene) Clark of Carrollton, TX and Sally (Jim) Isder of Waseca; five grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Barnett, Terri (Mike) Calley, Randy Clark, Kati (Dave) Pike, and Carly Isder; and two step-grandchildren Josiah (Bonnie) Isder and Makayla (Clint) Selvik; eleven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Patterson, and one brother-in-law, Phillip Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard, Lowell (Clara Mae), and Stanley (Vanessa); sisters-in-law Carol (Lloyd) Rudd, Helen Clark; and brother-in-law Jim and his (Mary Ann) Clark; and three nephews.
Beverly’s family would like to thank the staff at Homestead Hospice for the compassionate care she received for the past 14 months. They would also like to thank the staff at Latham Place in Waseca for the kind and considerate care they gave Beverly for the nearly-ten years she lived there.
Private family services will be held.
