Beverly Joanne Kitzmann

BEVERLY JOANNE KITZMANN, age 83, of St Clair, MN went to her eternal home April 24, 2020.

Beverly was born October 27, 1936 to Otis and Mildred (Peterson) Hougen in Blue Earth, MN. Her parents, five siblings and one grandson, Steven Wroge, preceded her in death. She graduated from Elmore High School in 1954. While working as a waitress in Elmore, she met the love of her life, Franklin Kitzmann. They married December 30, 1956. He survives, along with seven children: Joleen (Bob) Kubiszewski, David Kitzmann, Barbara (Brian) Mercer, Janette (Paul) Wroge, Donald (Wendy) Kitzmann, Kathryn (Erik) Varness, and Marsha (John) Werner. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren: Brett (Cassandra) Kubiszewski, Craig (Megan) Kubiszewski, Tara (Caleb) Hanson, Michael (Stacia) Spiess, Jenny Barnes, Mallory Kitzmann, Heidi Kitzmann, Corysa (Alden) Burridge, Gina (Shane) Acers, Brandon (Nicole) Wroge, Emma, Max, Samantha, Ali, Ben and Garrett; and 17 great-grandchildren: Colton and Madison Kubiszewski, Maverick Kubiszewski, Brooke and Weston Hanson, Grady, Gus, and Gabe Spiess, Maxx and Cruz Barnes, Theodore Kitzmann, Kallia, Kieran, Ian, and Angelina Kitzmann, and Grayson and Ezra Acers.

Beverly was a delight to all who knew her, ready with a welcoming smile and a loving heart. She was a hard worker no matter the situation—whether it was raising a family, helping Frank run a dairy farm, sewing dresses for her daughter’s wedding, or canning apples and home-grown vegetables. Bev loved her life with Frank, was a devoted and kind mother, and a playful grandma and great-grandma.

Throughout her life, Beverly exemplified Christian love through her church service in Ladies Aid and Bible studies. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Janesville, MN.

Beverly was an educator at heart, teaching her children life skills such as gardening and how to get back on track after a sewing mistake. She demonstrated resourcefulness in any circumstance, and with a glad heart. Bev taught her grandchildren how to bake bread, cookies and sweet rolls. She always had time to color and play, or to add a thoughtful touch to a care package or gift.

Beverly’s happy spirit was contagious. Her laughter, song, or spontaneous dancing livened up each day. She brought a light to the world that will live on in our memories. We find comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Private family services will be held with burial in Tivoli Cemetery at rural Eagle Lake.
