Betty Jane Joyce was born to the late Edwin and Bessie (Russell) Hall on August 6, 1926. Following graduation from high school in St Clair, Betty married Sabinus "Sib" Joyce on January 8, 1945, and moved to California. While Sib was serving in the Merchant Marines, Betty was truly "Betty the Riveter". The war ended and they returned to Minnesota to start a family. Betty raised her children in Smiths Mill and Janesville, she later spent her golden years at Latham Place in Waseca.
When Betty married Sib, she joined St Ann Parish in Janesville and this Hall girl immediately became a proud Irish Catholic. She enjoyed traveling with Sib, friends and family; her highlights being Ireland, waltzing in Vienna, and volunteering at the White House. She also enjoyed sewing, loved music (especially anything from Kenny Rogers), square dancing, playing cards, bowling with the Stankey Livestock "Bullerettes", cooking for family and friends and bingo! However, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to remember her love are her children: Tom (Mary) Joyce of Janesville, Brenda (Joe) Corte of Scottsdale, AZ, Deb Krause of Waseca, Dan Joyce of Minneapolis, and Angie Joyce of Eden Prairie; her sister, Donna Berndt of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband and one son, Michael.
