Betty Ann Hullopeter

March 27, 1930 — November 17, 2020

BETTY ANN HULLOPETER, age 90 of New Richland, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Born in Lamberton on March 27, 1930, Betty was the daughter of Remi and Helena (Decapp) Beert. She attended grade school in the country and later graduated from Lamberton High School. On September 6, 1950 Betty married her love, Gerald Ben Hullopeter, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Ten children blessed their family throughout their years together. She and Gerald bought and ran the New Richland locker plant for over 20 years. Later in her life, she went back to school and earned a business degree, spent many years trucking alongside her husband, and worked at the Owatonna Walmart before transferring her employment to the Waseca Walmart. Betty was a dedicated volunteer, often offering her time to her church, to local nursing homes, and to children of local schools. More than anything, though, she loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland and also regularly attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

Betty is survived by ten children and their spouses; one brother; thirty-one grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Fr. The Hoang officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Mayo Hospice, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or to Betty’s family.
