Bernard "Bernie" Jeno, age 84, of Faribault, died on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, with Fr. Erik Lundgren, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. The rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Bernard Joseph Jeno was born on February 19, 1927 and raised in Forest Township, Rice County, MN on a farm with his parents, Victor and Florida (Duffney) Jeno and one sister. He lived on the farm until 1956. He married Bernice M. O''Malley on June 24, 1958 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2008. Bernie worked at Carleton College as groundskeeper for 23 years, then at Nutting Truck and Caster Co. for two years. After working for two years at Jerome Foods, he worked for 13 years at St. Lawrence Cemetery as groundskeeper until his retirement. He is survived by three children, Brenda Rahmann of Faribault, Owen (Deb) Jeno of Faribault, and Wayne (Teresa) Jeno of Kenyon; four grandchildren, Josh (Kandi) Jeno, Cory Jeno, Chantel Jeno, and Vincent Rahmann; great grandson, Hunter Jeno; sister, Lorraine Paro of Nacogdoches, TX; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; parents; and aunts and uncles.
