Bernard J. Frisk
BERNARD J. FRISK passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017 at his Arizona home.
Born in Waseca on April 5, 1943, Bernard was the son of Lawrence and Ruth (Alexanderson) Frisk. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1961. He later honorably served his nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he was a helicopter mechanic. Upon his discharge from the army he was employed by Brown Printing in Waseca, where he was a binder operator and supervisor. He met and married his wife, Karen Steiffel, and they lived in Waseca until 1980 when they moved to Seattle, WA. Bernies retirement in 2005 found him in the Sunny Valley of Arizona. He and Karen bought an acreage near Bouse. Bernie was mechanically inclined and could figure most things out. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved everything from hunting to feeding his hummingbirds. He enjoyed gun collecting, target shooting, living in the desert, and 4-wheeling with friends.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Karen of Bouse, AZ; three sons, Russell (Linda) Cabasal of Waseca, Shane (Jean) Frisk of Meriden, and Nick Frisk of Seattle, WA; three grandsons, Joshua and Garrett Cabasal and Corey Hanks; one granddaughter, Amanda Hanks; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Mae and Carson. He is also survived by four brothers, Eldon (Joan) Frisk, Jack (Rhonda) Frisk, Gordy (Pat) Frisk, and Charlie (Liza) Frisk; three sisters, Bonnie Roehrs, Ramona (Henry) Wolff, and Jeanine (Tom) Dunlap; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one beloved brother, LeRoy in May of 2017.
A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 in the fellowship hall at Vista Covenant Church in rural New Richland. There will be a private interment at the Vista Mission Cemetery at a later date.
