Benjamin Alan Parkos, age 29, passed away Thursday, September 8th after an extended period of physical pain which resulted from a work injury seven years ago.
Benjamin was the oldest of three children born to parents Lawrence and Christina (Daily) Parkos on July 4, 1993. Benjamin attended elementary schools beginning in Centuria, WI, moving on to the W-E-M school district, and graduating from Discovery Charter School in Faribault Class of 2011. He was well liked and very popular. He participated in Boy Scouts, was an avid fisherman, and an accomplished hunter. He was proud of shooting his first deer, a 6-point buck, at the age of 14. He accompanied his father and very special friend, Danny, on numerous fishing trips to Baudette – the walleye capital of MN, on the Canadian border. He was a gifted angler and outdoorsman.
His time on this earth was a gift of friendship and laughter for many. His contagious smile and rosy cheeks stood out and represented his love of life.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Thomas; and sister, Leila; and half sibling, Kayla. He also held a deep affection for the neighbors, the Geyer family. Jeff & Janet served Ben as a set of bonus parents.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, especially at a loss for Grandma Leila.
Celebration of Ben’s life will be held from 2-4 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service with Words of Remembrance beginning at 3 PM.
