BARRY SCOTT ERICKSON, age 56, of Waseca died on Friday evening, June 19, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.
Born in Viroqua, Wisconsin on April 6, 1964, Barry was the son of Howard and Florene (Buros) Erickson. He attended school in Viroqua and graduated high school with the class of 1982. He went on to earn an AAS in Ag-Dairy Production at the University of Minnesota Technical College in Waseca, graduating in 1984. From 1994 until his retirement in 2009 Barry was employed with Viracon in Owatonna. Barry was a former member and president of local 4-H and FFA chapters, and he enjoyed promoting dairy products and attending dairy cattle shows. He was also a proud Gold Star Dad and was very involved with Free Flags for Vets, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, 3 Legion Ruck, and he made it a priority in his life to wish well to young men and women going into military service. He was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.
Barry is survived by his daughter, Ruebecca “Rue” (Joel) Sticha of Montgomery; two grandchildren: Autumn and Augustus Sticha; five siblings, Robert (Diane) Erickson of Belle Plaine, Mark (Denise) Erickson of Fountain City, WI, Jacqueline (Earl) Page of Janesville, WI, Carmen Korpal of Norwalk, WI, and Anne Erickson of Viroqua, WI; one sister-in-law, Rena Erickson of Sparta, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Caleb Erickson; two siblings, Bradley Erickson and Rena Thompson; one niece, Katy Jurgensen; and one nephew, Kevin Walker.
Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Monday, June 22, 2020 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services. Interment will be 12 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in Woodville Cemetery at Waseca.
