Barbara M. McShane September 23, 1937 - December 31, 2015

Barbara M. McShane, age 78, of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly, December 31, 2015, at her residence at Faribault Senior Living.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Barbara Marie was born on September 23, 1937, in Faribault to Gordon and Genevieve (Boucher) Reichert. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1956. Barb was united in marriage to James W. "Irish" McShane on June 29, 1957. She was a devoted homemaker and had great love for her family. When Jim retired, they traveled in their motor home to many locations and wintered in Arizona and Mexico. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2010. Barb enjoyed reading, artwork and crafts, and walking with friends.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Barb) McShane of Meridian, ID, and Patrick McShane (fianc, Mary Sycks) of LeCenter, MN; six grandchildren, Jeremiah (Crystal), Sean, Elizabeth, Andrew, Bridget (Jerrin) Woodrow, and Jordan; four great grandchildren, Makayla, Makenzie, Jace, and Jayden; siblings, Blanche Reichert, Jim (Debbie) Reichert, and Carol (Quint) Juvland; brother-in-law, Clem McShane; sister-in-law, Ramona Reichert; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim "Irish"; parents; brothers, Joe Reichert, and Gordon Reichert in infancy; sister-in-law, Katie McShane; and brother-in-law, Orville Bauer.
