BARBARA LYNN SPLETT, age 53 of Elysian, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born in Faribault on June 25, 1968, Barb was the daughter of Melvin and Kathleen (Biggins) Splett. She grew up in Elysian and attended Waterville-Elysian-Morristown schools, graduating with the class of 1989. While in school, Barb was a great athlete in gymnastics and brought home a bronze medal from the 1983 Summer International Special Olympics at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. After graduating she worked at Potential Unlimited and lived with her mother in Elysian. She moved to Mankato in 1997 and worked at MRCI, Ray’s Grocery Store, Good Council, and worked on a cleaning crew. Barb was a “go-getter” and never gave up on anything. She loved all people and animals, and has touched countless lives over the years. She was an avid Vikings fan that enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, coloring, writing, and loved traveling around the United States experiencing wonderful memories with family. After her death, her final act of caring and kindness was to donate the gift of life.
