Barbara Collins March 27, 1945 - January 8, 2009
Barbara J. Collins age 63, of Waldorf, died January 8, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph''s- Mayo Health System in Mankato. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12th at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Rev. Michael Mathews officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph''s Community Cemetery in Waldorf. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Monday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Barbara was born on March 27, 1945 in Waseca, Minnesota to Herbert Sylvester and Loretta Clara (Davis) Prail. She was baptized on April 15, 1945 and confirmed on March 22, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Barb attended Trinity Parochial School in Janesville through 8th grade, and graduated from Janesville High School. On September 24, 1966 she was united in marriage to Curtis C. Collins at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. For 20 years she owned and operated Barb''s Cut and Curl in Waldorf. For the last 15 years she has worked in the purchasing department at Carlson Craft in North Mankato. Barb was active in her community and church, serving on the Waldorf Community Center Board, the Fire Department Auxiliary, and the First Lutheran Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, reading, and she cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Curtis of Waldorf, and her children Paul (Deanna) Collins of Waldorf and Amy (Keith) Juliar of St. Clair; by her three grandchildren Rachel Collins, and Taylor and Jack Juliar; by her step grandchildren Lena, Chelsey, Masion, and Logan Nesset; by her brother Robert (Jan) Prail of Waseca and her sister Beverly (Darold) Habeck of St. Peter; by her nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law Orville Collins .
