Audrey Marie Kopischke

AUDREY MARIE KOPISCHKE, age 82, of rural Mankato, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Born on July 5, 1938, in Elysian, the youngest of six children born to Orville and Carrie (Simons) James. She attended elementary school in Elysian and later graduated from Waterville High School in 1956. On September 2, 1960, Audrey was united in marriage to Irven John Kopischke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Audrey and Irven made their home in Janesville where they raised their family. Together they shared 30 years of marriage before Irven passed away on July 1, 1991.

Before Audrey was married, she worked at E.F. Johnson Company, and for a short time after she was married she worked at Brown Printing. Audrey was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker all the while her and Irven owned and operated Janesville Maid Bakery in Janesville. Later in life, she was the organist and pianist at Cannonville Community Church. Audrey cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Audrey is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey (Carrie) of Duluth, and Jonathan (Peggy) of rural Mankato; grandchildren: John Kopischke, Katrina (James) Schlie, Alicia Kopischke, Cassandra (Russell) Halvorson, Jennifer Kopischke, and Kyle Kopischke; great grandchildren: Mariah, Cambria, Hayden and Emerson Schlie, Dorian Halvorson, Abrianah and Emmeria Kopischke, Melody Robb and Trinity Distad; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Mahlon James, Keith James, Donald James, and Merle James; sister: Leora Anderson.

Private family services will be held with Rev. Paul Muther and Rev. Brian Johnston officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery.
