Arnold "Arnie" Kuhlman, age 85, of Faribault, died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault, with the Rev. Erik Lundgren, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. Arnold Phillip Kuhlman, the son of Edwin and Emilia (Grohman) Kuhlman, was born on September 7, 1926 in Nerstrand, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945-1946. Arnie was united in marriage to Phyllis Caron on June 7, 1950 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Arnie was dedicated to his career operating his service station in Faribault, with several locations which included Mobil, Sinclair, and many years with Standard/Amoco. After his retirement, he worked for 11 years at Harry Brown''s driving the courtesy vehicle. Over the years Arnie was active in many church activities and was active coaching his boy''s sports teams. He and Phyllis spent many years camping, at their cabin, and square dancing, among many other activities. He loved to fish and play cards, and most of all treasured his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Faribault; his sons, Robert (Jackie) Kuhlman of Faribault, Ronald (Lucille) Kuhlman of Skowhegan, Maine, Terry Kuhlman, Gary (Amy) Kuhlman and Mark (Lori) Kuhlman, all of Faribault; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Harvey (Pat) Kuhlman of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernard Kuhlman; and a sister in infancy. Memorials may be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic Church in memory of Arnie.
